August 1, 2022 – Associate Professor Dr. Chalat Santivarangkana, Director of the Institute of Nutrition, Mahidol University presided over a focus group meeting on the “Analysis and development of food systems along the value chain in terms of sustainability”.
The event, at the Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square, was part of a policy research project for food system development in Thailand supported by the Agricultural Research Development Agency (ARDA).
The meeting allowed government agencies, private organizations, foundations, farming representatives, consumers, and other stakeholders to discuss opportunities, problems and obstacles, and development strategies in this area.
Information gathered from the focus group will form the basis of guidelines for determining indicators and implementing appropriate policies to achieve sustainable food systems, a key goal of the national sustainability agenda.
